Purchasing, Pricing & Sales Policy
If you commit to purchasing an animal from Little Bit Of Dixie, LLC we require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the purchase price to be paid through Venmo (sent as friends w/o fees) or Zelle, which takes the animal off of the sales market and reserves the goat for you. This deposit counts as a first payment and applies toward the balance of the purchase price of the goat.
All of our goats are available to the first person that sends a deposit, we will not hold a goat without a deposit unless you are planning to pay the deposit later that day. If the deposit is not received, the next interested party will have the option to purchase. The balance is due 7 days before the animal leaves our property. If you change your mind for any reason or you are not able to fulfill your obligation to purchase, your deposit will be forfeited, and the goat will become available for purchase by another party. Babies will be started on the bottle and available any time for pickup. For all adult animals sold, pickup is preferred within three weeks after purchase, unless otherwise agreed upon for transport purposes. Other arrangements can be made, but we prefer for the goat to be moved asap if you are local enough to meet for pickup and don't need a health certificate. We will gladly assist with transporting part way, please see meeting locations on our home page. Due to the variables that a kid or adult can be exposed to after leaving our farm, we do not offer any health guarantee once the animal has left our property. Our entire herd has tested NEGATIVE for CAE, CL (through UBRL), and Johne's disease (through rtPCR fecal with Texas A&M). We test annually. The buyer is responsible for the cost of transport from our farm and for the cost of any paperwork or testing needed for the animal to be transported (health certificate, any vaccinations, etc.). It is the buyer's responsibility to arrange pickup and delivery and pay the transporter directly. We will do our best to meet the transporter for pickup at the time they need us to. PLEASE make sure you get a good transporter. We have used Jonathan Lippert, as his whole operation is affordable and very reliable, great with communicating, and always shows up on time. We have also had pickup from Brian Barlow and Medicine Mountain Pet Transport, so they have been here before as well. If you are using a transporter, please be sure to make arrangements with us for getting a health certificate, as our vet can be booked out several weeks for an appointment. Cost for health certificate is normally $45 if no other tests are needed plus farm call fee. Cost is subject to change should the vet decide to raise prices. We require buyers to already have other goats, or we can offer two to go together, as goats are herd animals. Absolutely please make sure you are knowledgeable before acquiring goats. Lots to learn, and probably more than you think! Good sources for knowledge are www.tennesseemeatgoat.com and www.fiascofarm.com All goats are disbudded, CDT vaccinations given, coccidia preventative/treatment given, etc. before leaving our farm. All goats are healthy upon leaving our farm and day of transport photos are always taken. Vet checks are welcome at your expense and are completed should you need a health certificate for transport. We do not guarantee the health of the goat once it leaves our possession due to circumstances that we have no control over, exposure during transport, at your farm, etc. We request first right of refusal for any goat we sell. |
